The basics
The world is cut into hexagons of roughly 300 sq m (9 m per side). Every one your GPS trace crosses is captured. A run must cover at least 50 m and last at least 10 seconds to count.
The loop, your best tool
This is the most rewarding mechanic in the game, and the least understood. If you close your route, the entire area inside the loop is captured, not just the trace. You are not taking a line, you are taking a territory.
A loop is detected as soon as you come back within 50 m of a point you have already run through, provided you covered at least 250 m in between. Konquo keeps the largest possible loop.
What each hexagon pays
Not all hexagons are equal. The scale rewards conquest and discourages pointless farming.
| Type of hexagon | XP earned | |
|---|---|---|
| Stolen from a rival (held for more than 24h) | The best payout | 10 XP |
| Neutral (no owner) | Untouched ground | 5 XP |
| Stolen but held for less than 24h | Anti-farm | 2 XP |
| Already yours (repeat pass) | Upkeep | 2 XP |
When running, all of these values are multiplied by 1.4. On a bike, they stay as they are.
Resistant hexagons
A Guardian has a one in two chance of making each hexagon they capture resistant. To take it from them, you then have to pass over it twice: the first pass only breaks the resistance, the second actually captures it.
The class you play changes the way you capture.
