What they are
Real places dropped on the map: town halls, stadiums, monuments, castles, theatres, museums, churches and universities. They are the most rewarding objectives in the game.
You do not capture them directly
A major point requires 4 neighbouring hexagons, a minor point requires 3. In practice, you have to surround the place, not simply run through it.

How long you keep it
A captured point is yours for 48h. For the first 24 hours it is untouchable: nobody can take it from you. After that, and until it expires, a rival can steal it.
On your side, you can reinforce it after 24h to restart a 48h window and pocket 25 XP along the way.
