Two territorial running games, with different design choices.
HexaRun is the closest French competitor to Konquo: both turn running into territory conquest and both ship their own GPS tracking. The differences come down to the scale of the playing field and the nature of progression.
| Criterion | Konquo | HexaRun |
|---|---|---|
| Main purpose | Territory game | Territory game |
| Territory capture | Worldwide GPS hexagons | French regions |
| Progression and role play | 3 classes with real effects | Story-driven expeditions |
| Built-in GPS | Yes | Yes |
| Supported sports | Running, cycling, hiking | Running |
| Playing field | Worldwide | France |
| Rewards | Digital | Physical medals |
| Availability | Invite-only beta | Open to everyone |
HexaRun is publicly available on both stores, where Konquo is still an invite-only beta: you can try it right now. Its story-driven expeditions give training a narrative thread, and it ships real physical medals for certain premium expeditions, which Konquo does not. Its competition between French regions also creates a sense of belonging that our worldwide approach lacks.
Konquo plays at world scale rather than across French regions, which changes the nature of conquest: you capture precise hexagons, street by street, anywhere on the planet. Cycling and hiking count as much as running, where HexaRun focuses on running alone. And the three classes alter the capture rules themselves rather than adding a narrative layer.
If you run on foot only, in France, and a physical medal motivates you, HexaRun is an excellent and immediately available choice. If you practise several sports, want a worldwide map and a strategic layer between players, Konquo is built for you.
