How a duel actually starts, what goes into the pot, how you win and what you take home.

How it starts

In practice: you have to cross at least 30 shared hexagons with the same person, each of those hexagons being crossed by both of you less than 10 minutes apart. That works out to roughly 270 m of shared route. Simply passing someone is not enough.

How you win

The only criterion is the number of hexagons CAPTURED during the battle. Neither distance covered nor points of interest count, even though they still show up in the summary.

What goes into the pot

The pot gathers the hexagons at stake, and it follows two strict rules.

  1. 01Only CAPTURES go into the pot. Simply crossing a hexagon puts nothing at stake.
  2. 02A neutral hexagon never enters the pot: there is nothing to win there, and nobody loses it.
  3. 03A player outside the battle who captures a hexagon from the pot REMOVES it from play. The pot can shrink during the duel.

The rewards

In case of a tie, the pot is split evenly between the joint leaders. And if nobody captured a single hexagon, the battle is simply cancelled: nobody wins anything.
