What the anti-cheat actually looks at

Konquo checks every GPS trace, but it only judges two things: your SPEED and teleports (impossible jumps from one point to the next). Those are the only signals that tell a real activity apart from a fraud.

Why a run gets rejected

A run is rejected, and then earns neither territory nor XP, in four cases. All of them concern speed or teleportation.

  1. 01Trace quality drops below 30 %, meaning most measured points are incompatible with the declared sport.
  2. 02The trace contains at least 3 teleports.
  3. 03The average speed is well above the ceiling for the sport, a sign of motorised travel.
  4. 04More than half of the points are discarded for excessive speed.

Below 70 % quality, the run is saved but earns neither territory nor XP. Konquo is a public, shared map: a trace whose real share is incompatible with the declared sport cannot take territory from other players.

The speed limits

SportCeilings
RunningPeak: 28.8 km/hAverage: 21.6 km/h
CyclingPeak: 68.4 km/hAverage: 43.2 km/h

Peak speed is never measured from one GPS point to the next, but smoothed over several points. A simple wobble in the signal cannot make you look like a vehicle: real excessive speed, on the other hand, lasts over time.

Stops are never penalised

For the same reasons, a slow outing, a walk, a family stroll or a recovery session are fully valid. Konquo measures ceilings, never minimums: nothing forces you to go fast.

Duplicates

A duplicate is a run whose points are at least 95 % within 3 m of a previous run, in the same sport. It is saved but earns neither territory nor XP.

Imported activities

An activity imported from a verified service (Garmin, Polar, Coros, Suunto, Fitbit, Apple Health...) is never penalised by the anti-cheat, even if its GPS data looks degraded: the relative timestamps in those files can fool the checks, and the game accounts for that.

Finally, note that a rejected or overly imprecise run still keeps your streak alive. You do not lose your flame because of bad GPS.
